# Document and Identity Verification Settings

> Configure accepted identity documents, capture settings, and age validation rules for identity verification in the iDenfy dashboard.

**Location:** **Settings** → **Know Your Customer (KYC)** → **Document & Identity Verification**

This section allows you to configure which identity documents are accepted and establish automatic age validation rules for your applicants.

***

## Document Configuration

Define the types of documents your system will accept for verification. You can set global defaults or create specific rules for individual countries.

* **Allowed documents (Global):** Specifies the standard list of document types (e.g., Passport, ID Card, Driver's License) that your users can select by default.
* **Custom Country Rules:** You can override the global defaults for specific regions.
  1. **Select country:** Select the specific nation (e.g., *AFG - Afghanistan*).
  2. **Select document types:** Define exactly which documents are allowed *only* for that country. *(Example: You might accept Driver's Licenses globally, but restrict a specific high-risk country to Passports only.)*

<Tip>
  If you remove all documents from the **Default documents** section, only **Custom documents** for selected countries will be available during verification.
</Tip>

***

## Capture Settings

* **Driver's license backside capture:** If enabled, users are required to capture both sides (front and back) of a driver's license.

<Note>
  For USA and China driver's licenses, both front and back are always required regardless of this setting.
</Note>

***

## Age Validation Rules

Set automatic triggers to flag applicants who do not meet your age requirements.

<Info>
  Setting these limits does not automatically block a user. If an applicant falls outside the range, the system applies a mismatch tag to their profile for manual review.
</Info>

* **Minimum age limit:** If the applicant is younger than this value, a mismatch tag is applied.
* **Maximum age limit:** If the applicant is older than this value, a mismatch tag is applied.
