What’s New

Try AML Screening Before You Buy

If your account does not include AML screening, the AML verifications page under Explore products now lets you run real screenings yourself, not just read about the product. You see the results AML screening returns on real names before you talk to sales, rather than only reading an overview. Select Person or Company, enter a full name and click Run check, or select one of the sample names to try it without typing. Each check screens the name against six datasets: OFAC (USA), the European Union Council, the United Nations Security Council, HMT/OFSI (UK), PEP registries and adverse media. Each dataset shows whether it returned a match. Matched profiles open as cards with the match score and the types of finding behind them, such as sanctions or adverse media. The full AML product shows them the same way. Each account gets 10 free checks, shared by all team members. Trial checks are not billed and do not appear in your AML results, including after you add AML screening to your account. Book a demo call opens your account manager’s meeting calendar in a new tab, or our sales team’s if your account has none assigned. Every team member sees the trial, whatever their permissions. See Free AML Trial.

Bank Card Verification in the iOS and Android SDKs

Bank card verification can now run as a step of identity verification inside native apps built with the iOS and Android SDKs. If your users verify in a native app, you can now include a card check in that flow as well. The user completes it without leaving the app, with the same screens and retry rules as the web flow. They photograph the front of the card and the back if asked, or upload a PDF where PDF upload is enabled. If more than one card is detected, they pick the one to verify. Card images never pass through your app’s code. Capture runs in an iDenfy-hosted secure view inside the SDK, which sends the images straight to iDenfy’s PCI-DSS certified bank card environment. The step appears after face capture when bank card verification is enabled for your account. See the Android and iOS SDK guides, and Bank Card Verification for how the check works.

Brazil CPF Check in the iOS and Android SDKs

Users in Brazil can now verify with the Brazil CPF check inside native apps, as they already could in the web flow. Your users get the same digital ID options in your app as on the web. Nothing needs configuring beyond having the CPF check enabled in your allowed digital IDs. See Supported Documents.

Marital Name Extraction

Some ID documents print a second surname next to the holder’s legal surname, and iDenfy can now read it into its own field. That second surname is a married or partner’s name, introduced by a marker such as Épouse or Ép. on French documents, or e/v on Dutch passports. Having it as its own field lets you check it against your own records, so a customer you know by their married name isn’t held up by a surname difference. Once the field is enabled, the name is returned in a new docMaritalName field alongside the rest of the document data. It also appears in the verification’s Additional information section, where reviewers can edit or delete it. The surname, its MRZ check and the name-match result are unchanged, and detecting a marital name does not change the verification status. The field is off by default. Contact us to turn it on for your account. See Marital Name.

Improvements

Set a Default Verification Theme

Any KYC branding theme can now be marked as the default from the themes list. You choose which theme new sessions use yourself, straight from the dashboard. Open the action menu on a theme and click Set as default. The theme gets a Default badge, and its action changes to Clear default. Tokens generated through the API without a theme parameter now use the default theme, and passing theme still applies the theme you name. In the dashboard, the default theme is pre-selected when you turn on the theme option in a form that creates a KYC session. This covers new verifications, magic links, KYB custom rules and workflows, and token generation on a company page. Sessions that already exist keep their theme, and a default theme set for you by our support team stays in place. A default theme can’t be deleted until the default is cleared. Only team members who can edit themes can set or clear the default. See Setting a Default Theme.

Filter Verifications by Continent

The Country filter in the ID verifications list now groups countries by continent, so a whole region can be selected in one click. This makes it quick to review verifications region by region. Countries are grouped under Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Oceania and Antarctica, collapsed when you open the filter. Selecting a continent selects every country in it, and you can then deselect individual countries. Searching for a country looks through every continent, whether it is expanded or not. See Filtering by Country.
When you request more information from a business, you can now generate the update link and copy it instead of sending it by email. This helps when you talk to a client on a channel other than email: generate the link and share it wherever you already talk to them. The email option is unchanged. Follow-up reminders now sit in a different place in the dialog, and they are only sent when the request goes out by email. See Request Update (KYB).

New Dashboard Top Bar

The dashboard has a new top bar, which now holds your logo and account menu, and the side navigation has a redesigned collapse button. On Pay-As-You-Go accounts, the account menu also includes Subscription, a shortcut to your plan and billing details. See Subscription Management. The dashboard can also show an announcement bar at the top with news relevant to your account, and an optional button to find out more. Only one announcement is shown at a time, and you can dismiss it. Announcements are shown on enterprise accounts only.

Connection Loss Handling in Face Authentication and Proof of Address

End users who lose their internet connection during face authentication or proof of address now see a clear no-connection message, and submission waits until the connection returns. Users know what is happening and can carry on as soon as they are back online. Face authentication and proof of address now handle a dropped connection the same way as the identity verification flow. Nothing needs configuring. See Face Auth iFrame.

Step-by-Step Registry Lookup in KYB AI Reports

AI reports now look a company up in the registry in several steps and fill the report with the registry’s own details. The report searches the registry by name and registration number together, then by registration number alone, then by name alone. When the company is found through one field only, the report uses the registry’s value for the other field, so the company details in the report come from the registry. When none of the searches finds the company, the report says so. See AI-Generated Report.
